Deerslayer wins at Lingfield 29/11/11

Deeslayer led from start to finish to land the spoils at Lingfield park in the hands of Martin Harley. Breaking from the stalls he was prominent throughout and when the the pack came to challenge he kicked on again putting the race to bed.

He ran a much improved race from a few weeks back when breaking slowly and never getting involved. Martin Harley who has rode Deerslayer to victory before knew what to do and made sure the race was run to suit.

Deeslayer was very keen in the paddock before racing and really looked in the mood, This is the horse that we bought and are very pleased with today’s result. Claimers do seem to be his level but a win is a win and keeping owners happy is the key to a syndicates success.

This is the 1st winner for Wildcard Racing and Amy Weaver , lets hope there are a few more over the winter with Deerslayer looking bang in form after today’s race. He wont go to Kempton tomorrow, will lave it in the hands of Amy to find a race to suit hopefully soon……

Deerslayer @ Lingfield 19th November 2011

Deerslayer drawn 10 of 10 in a competitive race filled with front running horses, The task was made slightly easier with 2 none runners…..

However he did not break from the gates like he has in previous races, this made it an uphill battle, At the back of the pack he looked disinterested and ended up going very wide. The race looked well beyond him coming in to final bend and was eased down by jockey Jim Crowley…..

Speaking with Amy after the race she said deerslayer running style was not suited by the race and will will be looking to enter soon and get some luck with draw and less front running horses…..
